Dr. Bob Kiaii is our first featured speaker. Working at the London Health Sciences Foundation, Dr. Kiaii specializes in implementing robotic-assisted methods to improve heart health care. Read more here.
Madeline McKinnon, our second keynote, is an associate lawyer in Siskinds’ Class Action Department. Her practice is centered around the prosecution of complex pharmaceutical and medical device class actions. She will be talking about the intersection of ethics and pharmaceuticals. Read more here.
Lisa Ambaye, our workshop host, is an executive director at Rideau-Ottawa Valley Learning Network. She will host an informative workshop on motivational interviewing - a technique used by health care practitioners to elicit behaviour change in their patients. Read more here.
Donna Goldhawk, another one of our workshop hosts, is an imaging scientist at the Lawson Health Research Institute. Her research areas include regenerative cell therapy to combat cancer and heart disease, heart failure, gene-based cellular contrast using magnetic resonance imaging, and magnetotactic bacteria. She will host an informative workshop on medical imaging techniques. Read more here.
Farnoosh Khodakarami is a postdoctoral fellow at the Princess Margaret Bioinformatics and Computational Genomics Laboratory (PM Genomics Laboratory). She is applying machine learning methods on radiomic data. Read more here. Ali Madani is a PhD candidate at UofT, with a focus on developing a new framework for estimating proper drug combinations as a more efficient and less toxic chemotherapies. Read more here. Farnoosh and Ali will host a workshop on artificial intelligence and machine learning in biotech.
